Eric Evans, Co-founder of Queen City Speed was weaned on dirt bikes, skateboards, low riders and Hot Wheels in Chestnut Mountain, Georgia. His love of everything automotive started at an early age, disassembling things and meticulously reassembling them. Unconsciously wiring his brain for what was yet to come. Eric traded a Yamaha dirt bike for a 1955 Chevy 2ND Series pickup when he was fourteen years old. He also subscribed to every car magazine imaginable trying to soak up every tidbit of information he could. One of his fondest memories is of his Aunt Diane and her 1972 Maverick "Grabber" with a 302. He remembers it being "so cool" he could reach the car door handle and open it by himself at four years old. It was probably at that very moment that the car "disease" took hold.
During high school and college, Eric worked at audio/video and street rod shops designing, installing and selling. At 17 years old he was certified MECP and EIA. He also graduated with a degree in Collision Repair. Eric continued to build hot rods and customs for himself and friends honing his skills, the kid turned into quite the craftsman. He built a 1981 Rabbit truck with a 2.1 liter 16 valve that ran low 13's with Scirocco everything, a 1979 Chevy El Camino "El DOGG" Pro Touring car that is currently morphing into a full on drag car and a 1976 Harley Davidson FLH kick start rigid frame 106" shovel head that got Jesse James' stamp of approval with it's rubber shredding torque.
In 1996 Eric started his business Offshore Audio doing audio/video and performance work on watercraft. The boating industry was booming and he was working a heck of a lot of sixteen hour days. After a case of life threatening Pneumonia and some chest tubes, Eric decided that the hobby he loved should take front and center. The demand built up, which led to the formation of Queen City Speed.
With 16 years of professional experience in audio/video, design, performance and installation under his belt, Eric's cleaver design elements result in vicious curb appeal. The level of skill and quality of workmanship draw in the guys with the most talent and tightest skills. Queen City Speed is a gang of gear heads whose love for customs and hot rods pushes them to become the best there is. Whether it's designing a fuel system for a hot rod, running at the drag strip or pushing a dirt car around the turns, Eric's race op's are always in full swing. The shop has shifted into overdrive, the new ideas and engineering breakthroughs come fast and the pace hasn't let up yet. With a ton of sweat, hardwork and determination, Queen City Speed continues to be a driving force in the automotive field. "Because that's how we do it"
